Dena and Chris

Memorial Day was a big holiday weekend for weddings, and Dena and Chris were Day 1 of my rare double-header. Dena and Chris were married at King Avenue United Methodist, which I was extremely happy to see had been remodeled and significantly brightened up since my last wedding there four years ago. They got rid of a lot of the dark wood that made the sanctuary feel cave-like, and painted everything a nice, bright white. It was beautiful inside and the one thing I've seen them do twice now, and which I really like, is passing the wedding rings through the first few pews of family members so everyone can instill them with their blessings. It was a beautiful ceremony, which we followed up by heading in a gigantic limo bus to Goodale Park and then Union Station Arch. The reception was in the Small Theatre at The Athenaeum, where I love to shoot!

Well, on to the show! We got some great ones for Dena and Chris and here are just a few:

At the Arch, it was decided that the guys wanted to jump. Jumping shots, in my opinion, are way way way overdone, but geez - when you have great jumpers like these guys and a camera that shoots 11 frames per second, then you kinda think, ok maybe this once!

My favorite part of the Small Theatre are the strings of lights from the ceiling. I always try to shoot the first dance from the back of the stage so I can include the beautiful little lights and the faces of the guests.

And I know you know who they are! It's Rita and Brian, my fabulous fabulous bride and groom from September 16, 2006. Brian and Chris work together and I was just so incredibly pleased to chat with them at the reception.

The dance floor was jam-packed all night and made for lots of really great shots.

Happy Anniversary, Carrie and Shawn!

Yesterday marked the one-year anniversary for Carrie and Shawn, who were married at a very famous national basilica in Carey, Ohio. Their reception was at the Burgundy Room here in the Short North. Not a place I usually shoot wedding receptions, but I have to say, having it jam-packed with people made it tons of fun! Here are a few shots to commemorate their day!

This past Wednesday I had the great pleasure of shooting maternity images for one of my favorite brides, Shawnda, who's due to deliver Kendal Mae on June 10. We had a great time catching up and spending time together and I think we got some pretty darn good images to show for it too!

Today marks the one-year anniversary for Melissa and Tom, whose maternity session I photographed a couple months back in anticipation of the birth of their daughter, Lily. I can't wait to meet her!! In the meantime, here are a few images to commemorate their wedding day:

A year ago today, Karen and I had the honor of photographing Jacque and Jeremy's wedding. It's hard to believe a year has gone by since we spent the day with them! We wish them nothing but the best on their annivesary and for years to come!

Lindsey and Morgan

On May 3, Melissa and I had the great pleasure of photographing Lindsey and Morgan's fabulous wedding at Morgan's parents' house in Bexley. Despite the weather alternating between sunny and stormy, they were successful in having their ceremony outside in the sunken garden. The entire day went off beautifully, from getting ready in the fabulous master bath, to the great cocktail hour and Ketubah-signing, and then the very touching ceremony and uber-fun reception. A great time was had by all and we were privileged to photograph every bit of it!

Today marks the one-year anniversary for Jill and Tim who were married at North Broadway United Methodist Church in Clintonville. Their reception was at Taylor Mansion, but not before stopping and sneaking into OSU Stadium for a quick picture before being kicked out!! Here are a few images to commemorate their anniversary!
