Sara and Stephanie - Columbus, Ohio wedding

A week ago Saturday's 10-minute sunshine fake-out followed by cloudy downpour at Glen Echo park was the setting for Sara and Stephanie's morning wedding. I've not photographed a wedding while being drenched with rain before, but I have to say I kind of liked it since it was out of the norm. It was made all the more OK by not only the colorful umbrellas but most especially because of the loving and heartfelt vows Sara and Stephanie offered to each other. There wasn't a dry eye (or a dry anything else) in the house. We followed the ceremony with some portraits and a lovely party at Sara and Stephanie's house.

Please enjoy some pictures.

Congratulations, Sara and Stephanie!

The Jackson Family - New Albany portraits

The day after Karen and Michael's wedding, I got to spend some time with Sarah and Rick and their son Chase, who I photographed last summer, at Rick's parents' home in New Albany with Rick's parents and brothers. It was a fun and relaxed portrait session that also included their cute-cute pooch Sadie. I'm a sucker for a cute pooch, for sure.

Here are some of my favorites from our session:

Karen and Michael - Christ Lutheran / Columbus Athenaeum

This past Saturday was the touching and emotional joining of Karen and Michael's families at Christ Lutheran Church in Bexley, followed by an early afternoon reception in the beautifully bright Hellenic Room at The Columbus Athenaeum. Their day was filled with lots of love and lots of cute and funny kids. Always a good combo.

Let's look at some pictures, shall we?

Melissa and Phil - St. Francis of Assisi / Columbus Athenaeum wedding

We'd been doing really great with the weather until a few weeks back when it started being nice during the week and nasty on the weekends. The weekend of Melissa and Phil's wedding was no different, but we luckily dodged (almost) all of the raindrops and were even able to do all of the pre-ceremony portraits outside at Goodale Park. What I do like about iffy weather is the drama the clouds add to the sky. It makes for some moody portraits, and I like that.

I started with Melissa at their house, then Goodale Park, ceremony at St. Francis of Assisi and reception in the Oak Room at The Columbus Athenaeum. I'd not shot in the Oak Room other than room set-up shots for the fine people there, but I have to say I loved it. The low ceiling and interesting lighting were both beautiful, and the wood paneling made it feel warm and cozy.

So, without further ado, here are the pictures from the day. Enjoy.
