The day after Karen and Michael's wedding, I got to spend some time with Sarah and Rick and their son Chase, who I photographed last summer, at Rick's parents' home in New Albany with Rick's parents and brothers. It was a fun and relaxed portrait session that also included their cute-cute pooch Sadie. I'm a sucker for a cute pooch, for sure.

Last week, I got to spend some quality time with my dear friend and former bride Shawnda and take some photographs of her beautiful and growing family. In addition to precocious Kendal Mae, there's a new baby brother, Nicholas. Kendal has become a laugh riot since I last saw her, with a big vocabulary and adorably funny personality, and baby Nicholas is as sweet and pleasant as he could be. I loved hanging out with them all and here are a few of my favorites from our session in their home.
I can't think of a better way to spend part of New Year's Eve than to photograph my dear friend Karen's cousin Mary and her lovely family. Karen and I shot Mary and Ken's wedding a few years back, and now they are a threesome with sweet little Catey. I had a great time photographing them taking down their Christmas decorations and just hanging out.

How lucky I am to have such wonderful clients who love what I've done for them enough to send me their friends! This is how I met Sarah, Rick and their delightful new family member, Chase. Sarah came to me through Stephanie and Greg, and we hit it off immediately, so I knew we were going to have a great time together.
I like to shoot portraits the same way I shoot weddings and engagement sessions: totally natural, with only a minimum of direction, with the focus on relationships and interactions. As you'll see from these images, I like to get just as close with portraits as I do on a wedding day! Close, close, close - it's how you get the good stuff!!
So, on to the show!

Last Tuesday, I got to hang out for a while with my great client and friend, Shawnda, and take some pictures of she and Billy's beautiful daughter, Kendal. Kendal is so pleasant and sweet and just absolutely the most adorable baby. We had a great time taking pictures and even dressed Kendal up in a Christmas outfit complete with Christmas lights for Shawnda and Billy's Christmas cards. It was a fun time indeed!
